Crawford Working Together - January 2026 Meeting Notes

MEETING INFORMATION The Crawford Working Together coalition held its January 2026 meeting on January 23, 2026. The group discussed various support services available to foster, adoptive, and kinship families in Crawford County. Josh Sanders from CMFCAA presented on the importance of raising awareness about available resources. A roundtable discussion highlighted ongoing transportation challenges and the need for community meals. For those interested, the next meeting will be held on February 18, 2026, at 9 AM via Google Meet. Don't miss the opportunity to contribute to community support efforts!

EVENT – Enrollment Open Now Crawford County Head Start is now enrolling children who are three years of age before July 31st. Required documentation includes proof of birth, family income, immunization records, and eligibility for TANF or disability services. MEETING INFORMATION The Crawford Working Together meeting will feature speaker Josh Sanders, Outreach Specialist from Central MO Foster Care & Adoption, in January 2026. Key agenda items include a recording of the meeting, roundtable introductions, and discussions on coalition updates. A follow-up meeting regarding the Continuum of Support Forum is scheduled for January 27 at 11 AM online. Additionally, the Crawford County Substance Use Prevention Coalition is launching a three-month underage drinking prevention campaign. EVENT The Crawford County Substance Use Prevention Coalition invites the community to join their efforts in preventing substance use among youth. The coalition focuses on delivering prevention education targeted at parents and youth, promoting healthy lifestyles free from addictive substances. Their mission includes preventing first-time drug use, especially with vapes, alcohol, and smoking. By becoming a registered coalition with the Missouri Department of Mental Health, they aim to strengthen their outreach through the Missouri Prevention Network. Join their efforts to make a difference in youth lives.

Sullivan Library Support -Help Event

Join Scenic Regional Library for a series of support events aimed at helping community members find essential resources. Meet one-on-one with a FREE library social worker at the Sullivan Branch on select Wednesdays and Mondays from 9 AM to 2 PM. Assistance is available for housing, mental health, counseling, childcare, transportation, and more. No appointment is needed; simply drop in for help. Food Safety Communication Flyer

EVENT – January 26, 2025 Join the University of Missouri for a focus group aimed at improving food safety communication in our communities. Volunteers over the age of 18 are needed to share their experiences related to food safety practices. This one-hour in-person session will be held at Union Scenic Regional Library, Meeting Room A, on Monday, January 26th at 12 PM. Participants will receive a $50 gift card and light snacks will be provided. EVENT – When Temperatures Drop The City of Cuba is offering warming centers for those in need. Daytime warming shelters are available at the Senior Center from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. and at the Library from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. For evening and overnight, Recklien will be open from 5 p.m. until 8 a.m. when temperatures drop.
